Brighton & Hove Albion got a lot of money for Moises Caicedo when they sold the midfielder to Chelsea in 2023.
Chelsea bought Caicedo for £115m, and Brighton will feel that it was a fair amount of money to ask for.
The 23-year-old was arguably their most important player at the time and one of the best tacklers in the Premier League. One stat from his final season at the Amex Stadium proves that.
Caicedo could sign a new contract at Chelsea, with the Ecuadorian now at the same level he was at Brighton.

Moises Caicedo once made nine tackles in a single game against Chelsea
While Caicedo is helping Chelsea to be successful today, he has been a real nuisance for them in the past.
For example, according to Squawka, Caicedo made nine tackles against Chelsea in one game during the 2022/23 Premier League season.
Alongside Mats Wieffer, who did the same against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, and Yves Bissouma, the Ecuador international has the record for most tackles made in a single Premier League game for Brighton.
Chelsea will now be glad that Caicedo is on their side, with Enzo Maresca heavily relying on him.
Maresca has used Caicedo in two positions this season: midfield and at right-back. By playing the former Brighton man at right-back, it has allowed Romeo Lavia to come into the team and start alongside Enzo Fernandez.

Moises Caicedo’s number of tackles at Chelsea this season
Caicedo’s tackling has not worsened at Chelsea. He remains one of the best tacklers in the Premier League, and his numbers show that.
Rank | Player | Tackles |
1. | Idrissa Gueye | 125 |
2. | Daniel Munoz | 113 |
3. | Joao Gomes | 105 |
4. | Moises Caicedo | 103 |
5. | Noussair Mazraoui | 102 |
Chelsea are aiming to win the Conference League after reaching the final on Thursday and have the chance to finish as high as second in the Premier League. If Caicedo’s form does not dip, then the Blues may be able to accomplish both things.
Whatever the case, Caicedo has played his part this season and helped Chelsea to get into the position they are currently in.
