Lili Reinhart has recently disclosed her diagnosis of interstitial cystitis (IC), a condition that has resulted in persistent pain and discomfort for her.
The actress took to Instagram to share her experiences, stating that 2024 has been the most challenging year of her life as she copes with this diagnosis while seeking answers regarding a possible autoimmune or inflammatory disease.

Interstitial cystitis, often referred to as bladder pain syndrome, is characterized by chronic pain in the bladder and abdomen, along with frequent and urgent urination, as noted by the Cleveland Clinic.
Reinhart revealed that her motivation to discuss her health issues stemmed from a deeply personal incident involving her grandmother, Corine Reinhart.
Corine faced initial dismissal from medical professionals despite exhibiting clear symptoms of cancer, and by the time she received a diagnosis, the disease had already progressed. This experience underscored for Lili the critical importance of advocating for one’s health.
In a heartfelt interview with Self magazine, Reinhart recounted how a COVID-19 infection during the filming of Riverdale led to severe fatigue, which raised concerns among her doctors.

She explained that her ongoing exhaustion, along with other unexplained symptoms such as weight gain and gastrointestinal problems, prompted tests for conditions like Celiac disease and Crohn’s disease.
Additionally, Reinhart shared that during this difficult time, she battled an eating disorder and subsequently faced hair loss.
In her Instagram message, Reinhart urged others to take charge of their health journeys, sharing her own struggles in the hope of helping others feel acknowledged.
She stressed the necessity for patients to advocate for themselves when their pain is dismissed by healthcare providers and expressed her desire for her story to raise awareness about conditions like IC, particularly among women.
