Nollywood Yvonne Jegede Fires Back at Nedu Wazobia Over Apology to May Edochie, However, a Nigerian actress, Yvonne Jegede, has responded to an apology by Nedu Wazobia to May Edochie, a colleague in the entertainment industry. The drama began when a famous comedian, Nedu Wazobia, said something hurting the marriage of a colleague, May Edochie, to an actor, Yul Edochie. May Edochie, who is justifiably furious at the utterance, called Nedu Wazobia to order for his insensitivity.
In reaction to this backlash, Nedu Wazobia apologized to May Edochie in a video where he explained that he never wanted to hurt anybody and was sorry if hurtful. But in a quick reaction, one of the vocal celebrities, Yvonne Jegede, who came out to support May Edochie, has fired back at Nedu Wazobia, saying she was disappointed and frustrated with his apology.
Yvonne Jegede, in a long post on her social media account, said that the apology of Nedu Wazobia was not sincere and did not show candor. According to her, his apology was more or less an action to get people’s sympathy and attention, which is not an apology as a way to show remorse. Jegede stressed that in any case, Nedu Wazobia did not address the core issue-the initial recourse to an insensitive comment about May Edochie’s marriage.
Jegede also lamented that Nedu Wazobia failed to take a little time to understand the power of his words over May Edochie and her family. She said this about his apology, which was not empathetic or compassionate towards the pains he created but more of reputation-saving–structures of justifying his actions to the family.
Further, Jegede added that Nedu Wazobia did not make an apology to reap Bytes of forgiveness but rather to save his face. She reasoned that if he were genuinely apologetic, he would have a conscience pricking him to swallow his pride and duly reach out to May Edochie and her family.
Yvonne Jegede closed her post, indicating that his apology was not yet enough remedy to pay for the pains caused by Nedu Wazobia even as he needed to take responsibility and learn from his mistakes as opposed to face-saving and trying to get out of responsibility.
This came after Yvonne Jegede’s timely response to Nedu Wazobia’s apology, in which she showed many the value of sincerity and empathy in apologies. As such, it reminded many that an apology should be sincere and meaningful, not a publicity stunt designed to win sympathy and attract attention to one’s self.

You don’t just jump out of ur marriage and impregnate another woman and want to force ur wife to accept polygamy by force. Who does that?? If yul had wanted another woman, he would have talked to his wife about it,if the wife isn’t okay with it, they should get divorce and yul can go ahead and remarry 100 wives if he damn fit.
