A convenience store in Melbourne’s inner suburbs has been destroyed following a targeted arson attack overnight.
Police believe a number of offenders broke into Harry’s Mart on Chapel Street in Prahran just before 4am.
Fire crews arrived at the scene to find the shop “fully involved” in fire.
Police believe the offenders lit a fire inside the store before fleeing the scene.
The fire was deemed under control within 40 minutes by crews.
There was no one inside at the time of the incident, according to police.
Detectives are investigating the fire and are treating it as a targeted attack.
