A California couple claims a block of ice from a JetBlue plane crashed into their home, causing them distress and insomnia.

Inglewood: A couple in California is taking JetBlue to court for a whopping $1 million. They claim a big chunk of ice fell from a plane and smashed through their ceiling.
This all went down last January when Michael Reese and Leah Ferrarini were chilling at home. They heard a JetBlue Airbus A321 flying overhead, and then—bam!—a block of ice, about the size of a watermelon, crashed right onto their bed.
After the ice incident, they called the cops and fire department, and the FAA even got involved to investigate. Now, every time a plane flies over, they freak out. They say they can’t sleep well anymore and are thinking about moving because they just don’t feel safe in their own home.
The FAA found that the plane had some issues with its water system for months before this happened. Plus, it was linked to another ice drop incident in Massachusetts just a few months earlier.
After the ice fell, inspections revealed a misaligned valve was causing leaks. The couple is accusing JetBlue of negligence and trespass, saying they never gave permission for that ice to crash into their home.
They’re asking for $300,000 for emotional distress, another $300,000 for pain and suffering, $40,000 for medical bills, and $360,000 for property damage. JetBlue’s lawyers, however, argue that the airline isn’t responsible and followed all the rules. They even want the couple to cover their legal costs. JetBlue hasn’t commented yet.
