Fort Collins: A teacher at Fossil Ridge High School, Brendan Gallagher, has been charged with sexually assaulting a student. The police think there might be more victims out there.
Gallagher, 49, was arrested last week. He faces serious charges, including unlawful sexual contact and sexual assault of a child by someone in a position of trust.
The trouble started when a staff member reported Gallagher to the Department of Human Services back in May. He had mentioned to them that he had an inappropriate relationship with a student.
The victim was in Gallagher’s class back in 2015. Once the school district got wind of the allegations, they put him on administrative leave right away.
Investigators found out that Gallagher had also taught in Berthoud, which raises concerns about other possible victims.
If anyone thinks they might have been affected or has information, they should reach out to Detective Brandon Wootan at the provided email.
Gallagher was arrested on a Thursday and managed to post a $200,000 bond the next day. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.
