Lindsay Clancy, accused of killing her three children, will undergo a psychiatric evaluation as part of her ongoing legal proceedings.
Duxbury: So, Lindsay Clancy is in some serious trouble. She’s accused of killing her three kids back in January 2023, and now a judge has ordered her to get a psychiatric exam.
The court’s decision came from a motion that suggested experts chosen by the Commonwealth should evaluate her mental state. Clancy, who’s 33, is facing three murder charges and has pleaded not guilty.
Her defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, is planning to argue that she wasn’t in her right mind at the time, citing postpartum depression and medication issues.
The tragic events unfolded when Clancy allegedly used exercise bands to strangle her kids, aged 5, 3, and 8 months, before attempting to take her own life by jumping out of a window.
Her husband, Patrick, was out picking up takeout when he returned to find the horrific scene. He was devastated, screaming when he discovered what had happened.
Clancy was later committed to a hospital due to serious injuries from her fall. Patrick has publicly stated he doesn’t blame her, saying she was sick, not a monster.
Originally, her trial was set for December 2025, but it’s now pushed to January 2026, with another hearing scheduled for February 2025. It’s a heartbreaking situation all around.
