A man in Dalton was arrested after a standoff with SWAT following a domestic violence incident involving gunfire
The police got a call around 7:20 p.m. about shots fired at 2250 Park Canyon Drive. They found out that 29-year-old Mark Lee Sims had threatened a woman with a gun and even fired a shot. Thankfully, she managed to escape and called 911 from a neighbor’s place.
When the police arrived, Sims wouldn’t come out. Since he was armed and barricaded inside, they called in the SWAT team for backup. After about 40 minutes of trying to talk him out, they decided to go in and arrest him.
Sims is facing charges of aggravated assault, and there might be more charges coming his way. The whole thing is still under investigation, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens next.
