Chansley pleaded guilty back in 2021 and got a hefty sentence of three and a half years. But he only served a bit over two years before being released early.
While in prison, he faced some tough times, including 11 months in solitary confinement. His mental health issues were serious, with diagnoses like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
His wild outfit made him a recognizable face during the riots, and he even left a note for Mike Pence on his desk. It’s a wild story, and now he’s back in the spotlight with this pardon.
