A deranged U-Haul driver, who killed a father-of-three and injured seven others, has claimed he saw an ‘invisible object’ come towards his car which led to the vicious attack.
Weng Sor, 62, was charged with two counts of murder and seven counts of attempted murder following the more than hour-long crime spree in Brooklyn on Monday.
Police have revealed that the 62-year-old was ‘suffering a mental health crisis’ that took the life of Yijie Ye, 44, and added that Sor has criminal history and was out to commit suicide.
‘He states when he’s driving his van, he sees an invisible object come towards the car and at that point, he says, ‘I’ve had enough’ and he goes on his rampage,” NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig said at a press briefing announcing the charges.
‘There was no object.’
