A woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed to death during an incident at a home on a quiet suburban street.
Emergency services were called to the home on Murrabin Avenue in Matraville, in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, about 6:15pm on Tuesday.
A man was found critically injured and died at the scene, despite the best efforts of paramedics.
NSW Police said a woman was arrested nearby and is assisting with inquiries.
A resident on the street told Daily Mail Australia that police were still at the scene at 11pm and appeared to be ‘looking for something’.

Footage taken by the local shows the moment police arrested the woman and can be heard saying ‘put your hands up’.
A dog from the K9 Unit can also be seen being held back by its handler as it barked at her.
A life-long resident of Murrabin Avenue told Daily Mail Australia that they have never known of ‘any problems on the street’ until Tuesday.
Images from the scene show about half a dozen officers surrounding a woman wearing ripped leggings, dirty socks and a grey hoodie.
Officers and Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the incident and have established a crime scene at the home.
