Everywhere you look, things are changing, including the owners of the original home used in Full House. The idyllic San Francisco home, which is featured in the opening credits for the original series and its spinoff, Fuller House, has officially sold for a whopping sum of $6 million.

The picturesque Victorian home, which is a little under 4,000 square feet, sold for the massive price thanks to its stunning views of the city, as well as the incredible features of the home, according to the online listin,. See the inside of the Full House home below!

About the ‘Full House’ home

The residence was originally built in 1883 by architect Charles Lewis Hinkel. Before the show aired, the house, which sits at 1709 Broderick Street, San Francisco, was handpicked by the showrunner, Jeff Franklin, who had a vision of the Tanner family living in a Victorian home.

In 2016, Franklin ended up purchasing the home himself for $4 million, with hopes of keeping it a place for fans to enjoy and reminisce about the show.

The house came on the market and really, I just thought, I have to buy this house,” Franklin explained in 2016. “I’m so sentimental about the house. It’s great to have the house in our Full House family and be able to preserve it for the fans. … Seriously, I love owning this house.”

The house went under full renovation in 2019 but was later sold by Franklin in 2020 for $5.35 million.

Inside the ‘Full House’ home

Despite expecting to walk into Danny Tanner’s home, the real interior is a bit different from what you’ve seen on the show, especially with its modern update. The real house contains three stories, four bedrooms and four and half baths.

According to the listing, the home offers a “seamless fusion of historic charm and modern sophistication, this home offers a rare blend of timeless luxury and contemporary elegance. Upon entry, period details and state-of-the-art upgrades create an atmosphere of refined comfort.”

Other remarkable features of the home include a grand living room with a chef’s kitchen expanding into a dining room and second living room, a fireplace, wet bar, wine fridge, den and more.

Although the interior was never used in the series, as Full House was shot on the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles, the exterior brings back a lot of memories for viewers. Since the original show aired from 1987 to 1995, the home has become a major tourist attraction in San Francisco.

When the cast and crew returned for a revival series, which was rolled out on Netflix from 2016-2020, the home gained its recognition once more, and this time with a whole new generation of viewers.

Full House starred the late Bob Saget as Danny Tanner, as well as John Stamos (Jesse), Dave Coulier (Joey), Candace Cameron Bure (DJ), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie), Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (Michelle), Lori Loughlin (Becky) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy).

Much of the cast returned for the 2016 reboot, except for fashion moguls Mary-Kate and Ashley, who felt they had moved on from that time in their life, especially considering they began filming at just eight months old.

Full House continues to live on in everyone’s hearts and deserves the legacy it has earned over the years.
