He recounted his story on the “Say My Piece” podcast, hosted by actress Lolo1, detailing how his father’s smoking habits and warnings ultimately motivated him to quit the habit.

Growing up, Korede was exposed to smoking through his father, who was a heavy smoker. His father would often send him to buy cigarettes, but he also repeatedly warned him about the dangers of smoking.

Korede recalled how his father would cough a lot due to smoking and would tell him,

“If you don’t want to cough like me, don’t smoke”.

Despite this early exposure, Korede eventually realized that smoking wasn’t for him. He acknowledged his addictive personality and the potential dangers of developing harmful habits. He tried smoking but found it wasn’t his “thing” and eventually quit the habit.

Korede credits his father’s wise counsel and his own personal experiences for shaping his perspective on smoking. He developed a strong conviction that smoking is unhealthy and harmful, which ultimately motivated him to quit the habit.

He emphasized that his addictive personality made it easy for him to get hooked on anything pleasurable, so he made a conscious decision to avoid smoking.
