Elizabeth Hurley admits having son Damian direct her racy sex scene in new film Strictly Confidential made her feel more comfortable.
The actress, 58, stars in her son’s directorial debut, which shows her appearing in several steamy lesbian sex scenes with co-star Pear Chiravara.
And during an appearance on Friday’s Loose Women, Elizabeth said she would love to work with Damian again on future projects, because it is important to ‘trust’ the people you work with.
Damian jokingly said: ‘It is quite the family affair. I only ever want to direct my family now!’
With Elizabeth adding: ‘As an actress, you really have to trust the people you are working with, the people behind the camera, you have to trust everyone.

‘And having a family member right in your camp beside you when doing a sensitive scene, it means I could let some inhibitions go. It is just good to know no one is going to exploit you.
‘Maybe I will only let you (Damien) direct me’
Elizabeth and her son Damian have found themselves under fire after he directed her racy lesbian sex scene in Strictly Confidential.
Elizabeth raised eyebrows for her steamy scene with another woman in the raunchy trailer for her upcoming film Strictly Confidential; which was directed by her son Damian.
But the star insists it wasn’t just a ‘titillating’ moment but an important part of the plot of the movie.
In Damian’s directorial debut, Elizabeth plays a mother called Lily who welcomes her daughter’s friends to her Caribbean estate the year after the mysterious deaths of her daughter and her husband.
A number of secrets become known during the trip, including Lily’s love affair with her daughter’s female friend.
Of the steamy sex scene between the pair, Elizabeth told TooFab: ‘Well, it was a very important part of storytelling, when Mia, our protagonist, is on this quest to find out why her best friend [Elizabeth’s character’s daughter] killed herself,.
‘It was so integral to [the storytelling] that the actual physical filming of it wasn’t even something we talked about really.
‘We just knew that the impact it would have on the story and the rest was just our job.’

Damian quipped: ‘All we do is talk about work!’
She insists the scene is not simply included for shock value, adding she always stays away from movies that have salacious moments to stun the audience.
Elizabeth, 58, conceived her only child during a short-lived relationship with Steve, not long after she split from Hugh Grant in 2000.
She gave birth to Damian in 2002 but the businessman contested paternity, claiming that they had been in a non-exclusive relationship at the time.
Although a DNA test proved that Bing was Damian’s father, he did not become part of his life and they are thought to have never even met. Bing died in 2020 when he jumped from the 27th floor of his Los Angeles apartment building.
Elizabeth told Loose Women hosts Kaye Adams, Linda Robson, Judi Love and Frankie Bridge: ‘Damian is a single child from a single mother, so we spend a lot of time together and the relationship we have forged is very different from me and my mother.
‘We are still mummy and son, I do still tell him off.’
Damian quipped: ‘All we do is talk about work!’
It comes after Damian appeared alongside his mother on The One Show, where Elizabeth said that starring in intimate scenes in Strictly Confidential was ‘comfortable’ as ‘she had been filmed by him since she gave him his first camera’.
The actress said that she was first filmed by her son when he was ten and had been ‘filming her ever since’. She said: ‘He wrote sketches and initially little baby films and gradually go up to making bigger films.

The mother-son duo looked stylish in matching flares for the outing
‘I always said I’d be in his first film, and because he filmed me so much, and because I often force him to take photo ops of me all the time, it just seemed like nothing. It was a very low budget film. It was just like do it and knock it out and get going.’
Damian added: ‘This has been such a whirlwind. It was so amazing. It was really amazing we had tons of family and friends.’
Talking about shooting the film’s steamy scenes, which includes Lesbian sex, Liz said: ‘Everyone knows it’s not actually sexy to shoot any kind of intimate scene. It’s just technical. And we’d rehearsed it. Damian made it so comfortable. It was nothing.’
Liz was joined by her ex Hugh Grant at the film’s London screening on Wednesday, donning a racy green sequin dress.
Damian has defended his decision to direct his mother in the film’s racier moments, and revealed they didn’t even have an intimacy co-ordinator on set.
‘What was really nice was that in the audience for, for my all friends and family, was that every single person has known him since the day he was born’, said Liz.
‘So to see him do this..it felt really nice.’
She added: ‘I think it was the most nervous I’ve ever seen you [Damian].’
The production wasn’t without its hiccups though, with the mother and son revealing that they had trouble shipping in the costumes to the film’s shooting location in St Kitts and Nevis.
Damian revealed that his ‘male godfather’ was forced to smuggle in 80 bikinis after they were stopped by customs.

Damian added: ‘This has been such a whirlwind. It was so amazing. It was really amazing we had tons of family and friends.’
Damian said: ‘This was about a week before we were meant to be shooting. I think about 80% of our costumes got denied entry at the border and were shipped back to the US.
‘There aren’t really any costume shops. There’s no infrastructure there for a movie.
‘So I persuaded my male godfather to fly about hundred costumes in, smuggled them in the suitcase and everybody wanted their bikinis.
‘So my godfather was standing there and was like ‘of course these 80 bikinis are mine. What are you talking about? So they made it.’
Asked whether that was Hugh, he replied: ‘He’s not the bikini smuggler, but he is a godfather.’
Strictly Confidential was released in cinemas and on Prime Video on April 5 in the US and will be released on May 13 on UK digital platforms.
