A video shows the moment a drug-dealer admits to police that he has £1.9million of cocaine stashed in two supermarket ‘bags for life’ in the boot of an uninsured car.

Kieran Grant, 40, was pulled over by Essex police for driving an uninsured Skoda Fabia on the M11 at 10.30pm on March 31, 2022.

As officers handcuffed the man from Southend, Essex, they quizzed him about what was in the vehicle.

Grant can then be heard confessing that there are drugs in the boot of the car in the short clip, before the police officers find the 42lbs of cocaine.

A policeman asks Grant in the footage, which was taken from a body camera worn by officers: ‘Is there anything in the car or on your person that I need to be aware of?’

Grant quickly replies: ‘In the boot.’

When officers ask what is in the boot, Grant says: ‘Drugs- a lot, a lot. Cocaine.’

A cop then replied: ‘Ok, mate!’

To their astonishment, police opened the boot of the Skoda Fabia to find 19 individually wrapped blocks of cocaine weighing 19kg, or nearly 42 pounds.

The drugs were being stored in two supermarket ‘bags for life’.

This would have sold at street value for £1.9 million and has a wholesale value of £665,000.

Grant was jailed for eight years on January 13 for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, after admitting both charges at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court in April 2022.

Detective Sergeant Leo Fordham, of Essex’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit, said: ‘This was a sizeable seizure of drugs which were undoubtedly destined for the streets of Essex.

‘We know all too well the harm that drugs cause, both to those who take them and those involved in the supply of them.

‘In this case, driving an uninsured car proved to be Grant’s downfall and outed him as a complicit criminal courier.

‘He will now spend a significant amount of time behind bars for his actions.’
