Read new Trump indictment in FULL: Ex-President is accused of trying to wipe surveillance footage in classified document scandal cover-up
The Department of Justice released a third indictment against the ex-President on Thursday, accusing Trump of plotting to destroy the surveillance video showing Mar-a-Lago employees moving boxes of classified documents.
The new indictment also charges a third person, Mar-a-Lago property manager Carlos De Olivera with conspiracy to obstruct justice; altering, destroying or mutilating a document and making false statements.
The latest documents allege that De Olivera attempted to have another employee destroy the security footage. When that proved unsuccessful, De Olivera is accused of draining the pool, soaking the recording equips, the Feds allege.
Prosecutors also charged De Oliveira with lying to the FBI during a voluntary interview, falsely claiming he had no involvement in moving boxes of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.
‘Never saw nothing,’ De Oliveira told the agents, according to the indictment.
‘This is nothing more than a continued desperate and flailing attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their Department of Justice to harass President Trump and those around him,’ Trump’s campaign said in a statement.
