Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are finally dropping their long-anticipated and highly expected album, “Missionary,” in July 2024. The project has been many years in the making; the duo first teased its existence in 2022.

The record is due for a joint release between Death Row Records, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope Records. More recently, the two said on that album that they had it all wrapped up.

Dre was putting in that they were “almost done” on the project during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in April 2024.

The material, although late, was, to Snoop Dogg’s ears, “masterful,” and he glorified Dr. Dre for using his voice “like an instrument.” The album is supposed to have numerous of Dr. Dre’s contributions on various tracks, and word on the streets has it that he has confirmed 50 Cent for a verse on the album.

Eminem, too, is preparing for a new record with Dr. Dre, set to be released in 2024. Generally, “Missionary” is a record that many followers of both Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are waiting for. It’s bound to become a significant event within the world of hip-hop.

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have worked together in the music business for over thirty years. It all began through Warren G, also hailing from Long Beach.

That particular night, though, Snoop, who was twenty-one years old, nearly screwed everything up when he slammed the receiver down on the caller, believing it to be a prank from Dr. Dre.

He didn’t give up, and the former called back and brought Snoop to his studio. They would join forces again in 2001 for the DJ Pooh-directed film The Wash and again took the show on the road for the Up In Smoke Tour along with Eminem, Ice Cube, Warren G, and many more.

The Chronic was followed by Dr. Dre’s 2001, which included two lead singles with Snoop Dogg: “The Next Episode” and “Still D.R.E.” The album enjoyed gargantuan success in the commercial domain and set up Dr. Dre to produce Snoop’s R&G: Rhythm & Gangsta: The Masterpiece in 2004. After a long hibernation, Dr. Dre returned to his old boy for “Kush” with Snoop, released in 2010.

Snoop himself is on record stating how successful he’s become thanks to Dr. Dre, and his help in developing his talent insinuates that he would have never gotten to this level of his career without the help of the producer.

Throughout the careers of both Snoop and Dr. Dre, they have created the landscape for hip-hop with their work and togetherness, thus contributing the bulk in popularity for the emergence of the above genre. Some other high-profile projects they have undertaken include performing at Coachella and re-animating Tupac Shakur as a hologram.
