We want to talk to you about a recent accident. A TV host had an accident and now his fans want to know how he is doing. The accident happened at the end of last year and people want to know what’s happening now.
The latest news is that the TV station BBC decided to stop filming a show called “Top Gear”. They made this decision because the host Freddie Flintoff got hurt really badly during the filming.
Andrew Freddie Flintoff who is known for doing dangerous things has decided to leave the show. He made this decision because he got into a really bad accident at the end of last year.
In case you didn’t know on December 13, 2022, he crashed while filming a car review at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome which is where they test the cars on the show “Top Gear”. On Thursday, March 23 2023 the people who make “Top Gear” (BBC studios) said that because of what happened they don’t think it’s right to keep making the 34th series of the show.
Someone who knows about the accident talked to the news and said that the cricket player who became a TV host was hurt really badly. The person said that the accident affected him both physically and emotionally.
They also said that because Andrew likes doing dangerous things he doesn’t think he can keep doing his job on the TV show. At the time of the accident, Andrew’s 16-year-old son Corey said that his dad was lucky to be alive. Corey said “It was a really bad crash. We are all shocked but we hope he will be okay.”
Freddie Flintoff’s Accident on Top Gear
The TV host got hurt really badly and had to go to the hospital to get better. As we said before he was filming a show on Tuesday, December 12 2022 at the test track where they try out the cars for “Top Gear” at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey.
The TV station that broadcasts the show in the UK said “The 45-year-old former cricketer was hurt in an accident at the Top Gear test track. The crew medics came to help right away.”
Another news report said that the other hosts of “Top Gear” Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris were also at the test track when the accident happened. The report said that Andrew was driving on the track like he usually does.
He wasn’t going really fast but the accident still happened suddenly. They took all the usual safety measures for filming. During the accident, Andrew was driving a 3-wheeled car called a Morgan Super 3 with no roof. The car supposedly flipped and slid along the track when he was going fast.
The 45-year-old who used to play cricket and the crew member who was sitting next to him were both wearing helmets but Andrew still got hurt really badly. He had broken ribs and injuries on his face.
After the accident, he decided to quit the show. The people who make “Top Gear” BBC Studios didn’t want to talk about whether Andrew will come back to the show or not. They said to ask Andrew’s representatives instead.
They did say that they finished investigating the accident that happened at the test track in Surrey at the end of last year and that it hurt the TV host.
They also said “We are really sorry that this happened to Andrew and we promise to keep helping him get better. Because of what happened we don’t think it’s right to make the 34th series of ‘Top Gear’ right now.
We know that this will make the fans sad and upset but we need to do the right thing. We will decide when and how to start making the show again later this year.”
