The Delta Township Board has named Fonda Brewer as the new supervisor, filling the vacancy left by Ken Fletcher’s resignation.

During their meeting, the board members looked for someone within their group to take on the supervisor role. Brewer was chosen with a 4-2 vote, with support from fellow board members, including Karen Mojica, who also showed interest in the position.
Brewer is set to serve until the midterm elections in 2026. Township Manager Brian Reed mentioned that they’ll discuss how to fill Brewer’s old trustee seat soon. He expects a public application process, but it’s not finalized yet.
Brewer believes the board needs a “reset” and emphasizes that everyone’s voice matters. She wants to ensure that all opinions are shared professionally. Before her retirement in 2015, Brewer managed the field services department at the Michigan Education Special Services Association and served on the Waverly Community Schools Board of Education for four years.
She expressed her love for Delta Township, saying it’s her heart. Brewer spends her time engaging with local businesses and residents, especially seniors.
As for compensation, the township supervisor earns about $30,578 a year, which is double what a trustee makes. Meanwhile, Fletcher has waived his right to a preliminary examination in court and plans to contest the charges against him.
