The Chelsea squad are deep in their preparations for the fourth friendly of the summer of their pre-season tour of the United States.

It has been a mixed bag as far as results go for Enzo Maresca’s side, however their performance recently against Club America gave belief that they were improving greatly as a side.

It was a particularly free-flowing attacking display in the 3-0 victory, with Maresca highlighting Christopher Nkunku for praise after the game.

Up front it has been a really impressive start to life at Chelsea for Marc Guiu, with him starting every friendly so far.

This has been in the absence of Nicolas Jackson, who enjoyed a really strong first season in the Premier League last time out.

Nicolas Jackson back in Chelsea training

It looks as if the Senegal international is approaching his return though, with him being pictured on Chelsea’s Twitter page back in full training with the rest of his teammates.

It had previously been stated that the game against Real Madrid next week was the most likely time Jackson would make his first appearance of pre-season, as he pushes to be ready for the first game of the season properly against Manchester City,

Reports have recently claimed that the Blues could be interested in making one more big signing this summer, with that coming in the striker position.

Chelsea looking at Victor Osimhen

Talk of bringing in Victor Osimhen from Napoli had seemed to go quiet, however reports of a potential loan move cropped up this week.

It remains to be seen if these are terms that both the club and player would agree to this kind of deal, with it very much benefitting Chelsea financially.

With that said though, the development of Jackson is important and something the club would do well not to disturb by making any signings with a short term goal in mind.
