Chelsea are being linked this summer with a Premier League forward that’s expected to cost between £25m and £30m.

Blues fans have seen the club splash the cash in recent years in a big way to assemble this young squad. Understandably, it’s taking some time for all these youngsters to gel into the winning machine that everyone hopes for.

However, you don’t always need to cough up gigantic sums to buy players.

Interestingly, Chelsea are tipped to sign 26-year-old defender Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer this summer. He’s out of contract this month with Fulham and available to snap up.

The Daily Mail reported on Tuesday that Adarabioyo has been undergoing medicals this week ahead of an imminent switch to Chelsea.

It’s now been claimed that another Chelsea transfer target would cost a maximum of £30m.

Striker would cost Chelsea £25m-£30m

Journalist Ben Jacobs has provided some detail on the future of Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran, who’s been linked with Chelsea this summer.

Jacobs, who was speaking on Wednesday via an X space, shared that Villa would demand a profit before selling Duran.

Apparently, they value their 20-year-old striker at around £25m-£30m.

Jacobs said: “There’s no surprise that Chelsea are looking at Jhon Duran. They might have already signed Duran had he not got injured when they were previously considering him in January… Duran, they (Villa) paid a total of about £18m for, so the feeling is that the valuation they would be looking for is £25m-£30m if they are to entertain the sale.”

Blues should avoid Jhon Duran

The Athletic reports that Chelsea are considering Villa frontman Duran this summer after previously wanting him.

Despite the fact he’s got huge potential, which makes his transfer fee tempting, The Chelsea Chronicle strongly advises the Blues to look elsewhere.

If Chelsea want to bring in another striker, it should be someone proven and clinical. In contrast, Duran has to be one of the rawest Premier League players we’ve seen in a long time.

He causes chaos on the pitch for Villa whenever he gets a chance, but the big target man has so much to iron out in his game. In fairness, Clinton Morrison described him as “outstanding” last year via BBC Sport.

The youngster is great as an impact substitute at Villa right now while he learns his craft, but is all wrong for Chelsea at this moment in time.
