It has been claimed that Chelsea are now in danger of losing one of the brightest prospects from their illustrious academy.

Cobham has been a conveyer belt of talent for the last few years, and at this stage a number of academy graduates feature regularly for the first team.

Conor Gallagher, Levi Colwill and club captain Reece James are all prospects who have grown up at the club, however the former may well be on the move this summer if the right bid comes in.

Todd Boehly’s era at the club has largely revolved around snatching up some of the top young players in world football before any of their elite rivals were able to.

Kendry Paez is already showing immense talent after being permanently brought in, and they are reportedly close to bringing in Estevao Willian for a mega fee.

However, there have always been fears that this could come at the expense of some of the talents who are already at the club.

Chelsea set to lose Rio Ngumoha

According to The Secret Scout on Twitter, the Blues could now be set to lose one of their most promising talents in Rio Ngumoha.

They said: “Chelsea face battle to keep 15-year-old Rio Ngumoha, as contract talks stall. A number of clubs in the Premier League waiting to make an approach as his contract expires this summer. European clubs have also made contact.”

Letting Ngumoha leave could be huge mistake

Despite being only 15 years of age, Ngumoha has already been a regular for the Under 18s this season.

He has previously been compared to both Paez and Estevao, and the fact that other top clubs are waiting in the wings suggests they could be about to lose a serious talent.

With a similar story happening before with Jamal Musiala and Declan Rice, the club should be extra cautious not to lose out on someone who could be a real star for the future.
