Not too many Chelsea players are going to get an A grade at the end of this season.

In fact, Cole Palmer is probably the only one, while Malo Gusto will feel that he deserves at least a B.

But other than those two, there are not too many other individuals in Chelsea‘s squad who have performed exceptionally well.

Palmer is Chelsea’s top scorer this term, netting 16 times in all competitions. As for Gusto, he has proven that he can set up goals from the right-back position. The 20-year-old has produced eight assists for the Blues.

Gusto has sent a message to Chelsea fans, thanking them for the support that they have shown him. One of his team-mates, though, has not always got the same level of love and has recently been criticised by one pundit.

Chelsea star not clinical

Palmer is the only Chelsea player to reach double figures in the Premier League this season, though Nicolas Jackson is close.

The 22-year-old has scored nine goals in 25 appearances going into his side’s game against Manchester United tonight.

If Jackson finishes the campaign on 10, which he should, that is not bad for a debut season in England.

Alan Brazil, however, does not think the Senegal international has been clinical enough.

Speaking about Jackson on talkSPORT, Brazil said: “I thought Jackson was going to be a player, but he can’t take a chance. I don’t know if it’s nerves, I don’t know if it’s confidence, lack of, but the times you need to be clinical and he’s not clinical. It’s clear he needs three chances, four chances maybe to score.”

Nicolas Jackson’s xG

Statistics show that Jackson has indeed not been clinical enough in the current campaign.

As per WhoScored, his xG is 13.35, meaning that he should actually be on about 13 goals in the Premier League and not nine.

At 22, though, Jackson is still quite young. He is not going to be the finished article yet. And the fact that he is getting these chances to score is promising.

Costing £32m, Jackson has not been a bad signing for Chelsea, though it is clear that he can improve.
