Fabrizio Romano has now given an update on the situation regarding the Chelsea first team squad.

He told CaughtOffside that he has not heard of any players that are regretting the decision they made to commit their future to the Blues.

A story came out yesterday claiming that former record signing Enzo Fernandez was considering his options after just over a year of being at the club.

It is public knowledge that he was one of many of the new signings at the club that had signed very long contracts to spread the fee out.

However, Romano has now claimed that he has not heard of anyone being in the position where they are wanting to get out right now.

Romano on unhappy Chelsea players

He said: “There have also been reports about other Chelsea players being unsettled and some claims that they regret signing such long-term contracts at the club. However, I’m not aware of this, honestly. I think this week it’s easy to say only negative things about Chelsea, players, managers, owners.

“For sure it’s a difficult moment but it’s also too easy to call it all negative and disaster. How can players be happy when things go so bad? But it’s also about being professional to help the club and improve the situation. This is normal life at top football clubs.”

Pressure is mounting on Mauricio Pochettino in charge of Chelsea, with it being claimed that the board are undecided at what the best course of action is to take regarding him right now.

It feels as if the Argentine is going to be given the chance to save his career with the EFL Cup final against Liverpool at the end of this month.

A win at Wembley against Jurgen Klopp would actually mark the first trophy Pochettino has won in English football.
