Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has now given his honest thoughts on his club selling the most expensive ticket available in the Premier League.

He told The Telegraph that he is conflicted over the situation, being both a fan of the game and someone who works in the game.

Chelsea made the headlines again earlier this season when it was announced that they would have a ticket available for a fee of £5,000 to sit close to Pochettino and the dugout.

£5,000 ticket available for Chelsea vs Manchester United

The ticket is available for people attending tonight’s game against Manchester United, where they will be in attendance for a former popular star returning.

Mason Mount is set for his first game back at Stamford Bridge since leaving the club, and it will be interesting what the reaction is from those in attendance to his presence.

Some of those in the stadium will have paid a pretty penny to be there, and Pochettino has been speaking about the pros and cons of the scenario for Chelsea fans.

Pochettino divided on pricey tickets

He said: “It’s a difficult subject because I am on both sides. I am a fan and I am working for a company that produces entertainment.

“If you want to go to watch a film or go to the theatre, you need to pay. Football is entertainment, but I understand it’s a sport we love to watch; the passion. I understand if fans complain and clubs set this kind of price, I can understand both sides.

“The club needs to pay the salaries of the players, our salaries. And they need to find different ways to make income and pay for that.”

Pochettino is currently under a lot of pressure in the hotseat in West London, with supporters certainly not getting on board with the former Tottenham man.

They have not been afraid to make their feelings known at games both home and away this season, and it is feared that a negative result tonight could see the atmosphere turn toxic.

The Argentine will likely be relying heavily on Cole Palmer for a strong result tonight, with him hinting after their last game that they are looking to him for creativity at the moment.
