Reports have claimed that Chelsea are currently considering adding yet another youngster to their ranks.
According to the Sunderland Echo, the Blues are contemplating a deal to sign 16-year-old Chris Rigg from Sunderland at the end of this season.
Chelsea have not been afraid to look to the youth since Todd Boehly took over as the owner of the club. The American has added a player for the future for every one that has arrived for the present.
The likes of Kendry Paez, Andrey Santos and Deivid Washington have all joined the Blues with the opportunity to make a name for themselves in the future at Stamford Bridge.
Rigg has established himself as a regular in the first team in the North-East this season, with him featuring in seven games so far.
His brilliance has not gone amiss amongst pundits and teammates alike. Luke O’Nien explained to Chronicle Live just how good he was when he was even younger.

He said: “I have to give a big shout-out to Riggy. That’s been my highlight of the day, seeing him come on.

“He’s been coming up to the first team and he has made us look silly, and I think he contributed to the first goal by winning the corner. He’s 15. I don’t know what I was doing at 15, but I was nowhere near at his level.
“It’s really good to see him coming through and it is really good to see a few of the other youngsters coming through as well. They’ve been coming to training and they have lifted the standard.
The report goes on to say that a number of top clubs are interested in the teenager, with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool also already sniffing about.
However, the quality Rigg has already shown in his career would certainly make him a wise addition for the future in West London.
