Chelsea have reportedly spoken to the father of one of their targets.
With the transfer window opening soon, Chelsea will have the chance to bring in new players.
It is something that the club will want to do after such a disappointing season.
Things have obviously picked up for them lately, with Mauricio Pochettino‘s men currently sitting seventh in the table after being 10th for so long.
However, heading into the season, a top four finish to secure Champions League football would have been their No.1 objective.
Chelsea have spoken to player’s father and entourage
Chelsea do not just want footballers who can improve their team now, though.
The club are also trying to build for the future and are targeting 17-year-old Estevao Willian.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea have spoken to the Palmeiras winger’s father and entourage ahead of a potential transfer.
Because of his age, though, Estevao will not be able to link up with Chelsea’s first team this summer.
What has been said about Estevao Willian?
Estevao is clearly a player who is rated very highly at his club.
Speaking to FIFA last year about the Brazilian youngster, the head of Palmeiras’ youth set-up Joao Paulo Sampaio said: “One thing these kinds of players have is a strong personality, a big ego to say: ‘I am, I can and I will’. And they do it.
“For these out-of-this-world talents, things come easy. It’s difficult for your average player, who make up the vast majority.”
Estevao is not going to come cheap — he has a €60m (£51.6m) release clause in his contract — and after the season that Chelsea have had, supporters will want players who can come in now and transform the team.
However, the above does not look like it is going to stop Chelsea from trying to sign the Brazil youth international, who is clearly an individual with a lot of talent.
