Reports have claimed that Chelsea have openly told one player they want to sell him at the end of this season.

According to HITC and insider Greame Bailey, the Blues are adamant that Trevoh Chalobah still leaves the club this summer.

Chalobah was a non-factor in Chelsea’s season for more than half of the campaign, before finally making his first appearance of the season against Manchester City at the Etihad.

Since then, he made his first start of the season against Brentford, where Mauricio Pochettino experimented with a new-look back five.

Considering the game ended 2-2, and the Blues were scrapping around for a goal late on, shows that the system wasn’t really a great success.

Chelsea have looked to reportedly sell Chalobah in the last two transfer windows, however there was no chance of doing so while he was suffering from a serious injury.

The likes of Bayern Munich and Tottenham have been linked with a move for the Englishman, however the fee the Blues were looking for was deemed too high.

Chelsea tell Chalobah they want him gone

The fact they want him gone has not changed though, with it now being claimed that the club have outright told the player that they want him gone.

The report goes on to say that Chalobah still wants to stay and fight for his place at the club, and the opportunity to be one of the most experienced centre-backs at the club based on what looks like happening.

There have been no reports that the club are going to extend the contract of Thiago Silva at any stage, with his current deal running out this summer.

It has been claimed that the club will be assessing the market at the end of the season for reinforcements, but a strong end to the campaign for Chalobah could change the mind of those at the top that he should be at the club.
