Chelsea could be forced to stick with Mauricio Pochettino this summer.

Despite Chelsea‘s upturn in form, Mauricio Pochettino‘s job at Stamford Bridge is still not entirely safe.

He is about to enter the final year of his contract and according to journalist Simon Phillips, the Blues are set to have their end-of-season review on Monday.

There, everything is likely to be discussed, including Pochettino’s future at the club.

Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin thinks it would be “madness” to get rid of the Argentine.

Chelsea and Manchester United’s issue this summer

Like Chelsea, Manchester United could also be in the market for a new manager.

With INEOS now in control of football operations at Old Trafford, the club may want to head in a different direction.

However, according to The Guardian, United could end up keeping hold of Erik ten Hag because of a lack of options.

The same outlet has also claimed that Chelsea find themselves in the same boat and could retain Pochettino as a result.

Could Mauricio Pochettino potentially be a replacement for Erik ten Hag?

With Chelsea not exactly begging Pochettino to stay, it is not impossible that United turn to the 52-year-old if they do decide to part ways with Ten Hag.

Because of talks with INEOS in the past, David Ornstein thinks Pochettino to United could be one to watch.

Phillips says he has also heard that the Red Devils are actually keen on the former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur boss.

With Chelsea set to finish above United and on course to qualify for the Europa League, though, the board would be silly to get rid of Pochettino and allow him to join one of their rivals.

In the Blues’ last few games, which includes their 2-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion, Pochettino has shown that he has the potential to take this team forward. He deserves more time in the Stamford Bridge dugout.
