Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was asked earlier if he has enjoyed his time at Stamford Bridge so far.

Overall, it has been a difficult campaign for Mauricio Pochettino and his Chelsea side.

Things have picked up for them lately, with the Blues currently sitting in the final European spot.

However, their main objective at the start of the season was qualifying for the Champions League, not the Europa Conference League, and they have fallen well short there.

Pochettino has now been linked with a move to AC Milan, but it has been claimed his wages would block any appointment.

Mauricio Pochettino discusses first season at Chelsea

Pochettino is two games away from completing his first season at Chelsea.

He was asked whether he has enjoyed his time at the club so far in his latest pre-match press conference and gave an answer that may surprise some.

“I really enjoyed all the new things I’ve lived in this football club,” the Argentine said. “I enjoyed. We are much better now as coaching staff and I really enjoyed. When you win games, you enjoy more and when you have problems like you have this season then it is about proving you can deal with these negative circumstances.

“I always kept my mood positive and smiling even when the team had 14 players out injured. Always I was positive because it is our nature. Keeping this balance is key with our experience.”

Chelsea have produced some enjoyable moments this season

This is not a campaign that is going to live long in the memories of Chelsea supporters.

In fact, a lot of them will probably want to forget about it. With that being said, there have been some good moments.

For example, Pochettino’s men managed to beat fierce London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on two occasions, while a last-minute winner from Cole Palmer in the 4-3 win against Manchester United was incredible.

Their 4-4 draw with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge also brought a lot of excitement.

Going forward, though, Chelsea fans will not want excitement without wins and trophies. If Pochettino is going to become a popular figure in SW6, then he is going to have to put together a more consistent team capable of winning week in, week out.
