One Chelsea youngster has been discussing his loan spell last season.

The Blues let several of their players leave the club temporarily in the previous two transfer windows.

The above includes Alex Matos, Omari Hutchinson and Andrey Santos to name a few.

Hutchinson’s loan was extremely productive, with the winger helping Ipswich Town to win promotion to the Premier League. There, he scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 44 Championship appearances.

Hutchinson has spoken about his loan spell, as has Matos regarding his at Huddersfield Town.

Chelsea youngster talks loan

Chelsea allowed some of their players to leave the club in the January transfer window.

Matos was one of those, with the midfielder joining Huddersfield.

He was unable to help prevent the Terriers from getting relegated from the Championship, but Matos was still happy with how his loan went and shared how Chelsea helped during it.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Matos said: “I really enjoyed my time there. The stadium, the supporters, the people and staff – everyone welcomed me as soon as I got to the club. I’m very grateful for the experience.

“I spoke to a lot of people at Chelsea during my time at Huddersfield, guys like Ed Brand. They were watching my games and giving me feedback all the time which was really useful.”

Will Alex Matos leave Chelsea on loan again this summer?

Matos will be hoping to impress new manager Enzo Maresca when he begins work at Cobham on July 1.

He may very well, but it is easy to imagine the academy product going out on another loan.

At Chelsea, he will find minutes hard to come by, with the likes of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez around.

The South American duo are the two most expensive signings in Chelsea’s history. They are going to play every week when fit, which is not good news for someone like Matos. This time, the Blues may want to send him to a Premier League outfit if he does decide he wants to leave the club on loan again.
