Chelsea’s return to winning ways in the Premier League did not last long after they were defeated at the weekend by Manchester City.
The Blues flew into a 1-0 lead within three minutes, however were not able to capitalise on an opponent who were there for the taking in the opening exchanges.
Enzo Maresca showed his inexperience by not targeting Abdukodir Khusanov, who was clearly struggling on his Premier League debut.

One former Chelsea player was in attendance to watch the Blues at the weekend, however Danny Drinkwater found himself sat in the home end despite having no links to Man City.
After some supporters were clearly wondering why this was the case. Although the midfielders time at Stamford Bridge was far from a success, it was thought the relationship between club and player hadn’t soured to the point where he’d be supporting the other side.
However, it quickly emerged that Drinkwater had requested tickets from the club, only to have that rejected.

This saw the Englishman take to his Instagram story to call the club out as a circus, seemingly fuming that they had not honoured his request.
Danny Drinkwater’s terrible time at Chelsea
Despite making a big £35m move from Leicester City, Drinkwater’s time at Chelsea is largely seen as poor.
He came 12 months after former teammate N’golo Kante made the switch from the King Power, however had nowhere near the impact of the Frenchman at Stamford Bridge.
Drinkwater claimed after leaving the club that he wasn’t even given the chance to train at times, something that has been a familiar feeling for a number of players who have not been in the plans in the current Chelsea side.
Trevoh Chalobah was banished from the first team setup at the start of this season as they looked to sell him, however have had to eat humble pie and include him as a key player for the second half of the season.
