Chelsea had a very busy transfer window last summer, bringing in the likes of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Tosin Adarabioyo.
And it looks like the club really had to battle to bring one of those new faces to Stamford Bridge.
It could be another active transfer window at Chelsea this month, with arrivals and exits both possible.
Renato Veiga, who joined the Blues last summer, is one name that could depart this winter. Chelsea have a valuation for Veiga as they prepare to let him go.

Chelsea beat eight clubs to sign Tosin Adarabioyo
One player who will not be leaving Chelsea this month is Adarabioyo, who joined the club from west London rivals Fulham last June.
While Adarabioyo has not become an automatic starter at Chelsea yet, Enzo Maresca has used him this season. In total, the defender has made 17 appearances, which includes seven starts in the Premier League.
According to The Athletic, the Blues had to fight to bring Adarabioyo to the club, seeing off competition from eight other sides, including Newcastle United.
The same outlet has also claimed that Maresca’s own arrival at Chelsea played a part in Adarabioyo’s decision to join Fulham’s west London rivals and that the 27-year-old is seen as an “uncle” in the dressing room.
Adarabioyo is one of the more experienced players at Chelsea, and it has become very apparent that the team’s other players respect the centre-half and look up to him as a result.

Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart’s role in Tosin Adarabioyo signing
Maresca was not the only figure who influenced Adarabioyo’s decision to join Chelsea.
The Athletic’s report has also stated that talks with Chelsea’s co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart made the former Fulham man excited about a move to Stamford Bridge.
Now playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world and costing Chelsea nothing, both parties can probably be pleased that this transfer happened.
