Of all the positions Chelsea fans are hoping their club invests into in the final week of the January transfer window, striker is certainly up there.
Nicolas Jackson started the season in fine form, however the goals have dried up and big chances are beginning to be missed that are coming back to bite the Blues.
This has coincided with a run of results that have seen Enzo Maresca’s side drop out of the top four, and desperately needing to properly stop the rot.

Chelsea firm contenders to sign Benjamin Sesko
There is clearly no confidence in starting Christopher Nkunku up front, as talk regarding his future away from the club continues to carry on in the background.
The Blues signed the Frenchman from RB Leipzig, who have in turn replaced him with one of Europe’s most desired strikers in Benjamin Sesko.
Chelsea have held a long-term interest in signing Sesko, and he has carried on where he left off with an impressive campaign so far in Germany.
Benjamin Sesko stats 24/25 | Apps | Goals | Assists |
Bundesliga | 18 | 8 | 2 |
Champions League | 7 | 4 | 0 |
DFB-pokal | 2 | 2 | 1 |
The Blues have had scouts in attendance to watch Sesko this season, and are reportedly putting themselves firmly in the race to sign him this month.
Ben Jacobs said on ConnCFC’s X Space that this could be a deal to keep an eye on, whether it be this month or at the end of the season.
He said: “Benjamin Sesko is one to watch [for Chelsea].”
It was claimed by GiveMeSport earlier this season that Leipzig would be available for a fee of £50m, although that was taking into account that he would finish the campaign with the Bundesliga side.
Arsenal really keen on beating Chelsea to Benjamin Sesko
The Blues are not the only Premier League side to be keen on a deal to sign the young striker. Arsenal had put themselves at the front of the queue to sign Sesko already.
Mikel Arteta is no doubt keen to add a talisman to their ranks, with former Blue Kai Havertz guilty of missing a number of big chances in front of goal.
The Blues have already disrupted their rivals’ transfer plans in recent windows with the addition of Mykhailo Mudryk, who looked very favoured for a move to the Emirates before rocking up at Stamford Bridge.
