In fresh transfer rumours, Chelsea have been mentioned as a potential suitor for one high-profile attacker this summer.
Even though a lot of money has gone into building the Chelsea squad, there are still some weaknesses, and it may be a way off the finished article.
In general, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is ‘very happy’ with his squad as he attempts to lead them to success during his first year in the Stamford Bridge dugout.
However, The Athletic claims that the Blues will prioritise a new winger and a new striker in the summer transfer window at the end of the season.

Chelsea considering £37m attacker as potential summer target
According to Colombian news outlet Antena 2, Chelsea are one of the clubs now looking at Liverpool’s Luis Diaz as a possible target for the summer.
Apparently, there are doubts around the 28-year-old attacker’s future at Anfield because he’ll be entering the final two years of his contract with the Reds in the summer, and he’s one of the lowest paid at the Merseyside club.
The report claims that Diaz could be a profile up Chelsea’s sleeve for the next transfer window. In fact, the Blues would be able to make the Colombia international one of their highest earners.
Diaz has been a major success in Liverpool colours since he joined them in a £37m deal (Sky Sports) from Porto back in 2022.
He’s most recognised as being a touchline left-winger with great pace, trickery and directness. The South American ace has proven this season under Arne Slot’s management he can operate very well in a false nine position, too.
Back in 2022, Micah Richards said Trevoh Chalobah struggled against Liverpool’s Diaz in the FA Cup final. Could they end up as Chelsea teammates later this year?

Would Luis Diaz be a good signing for Chelsea?
Until there are some more concrete rumours about Diaz to Chelsea, we don’t think Chelsea supporters should get too excited about it yet. However, hypothetically, we’d love the idea of the club signing the Liverpool star.
Without a doubt, the Reds forward is an upgrade on what’s currently playing on the wings at Stamford Bridge.
Alexis Mac Allister claims teammate Diaz has been “amazing” for his side this season, via BBC Sport. From a Liverpool perspective, they’d be foolish to let him leave anytime soon.
As for Chelsea, we’d prefer to see them linked with more and more players in Diaz’s ilk. It would be a nice change under this ownership to go and see them sign the finished article rather than a youngster that doesn’t guarantee an automatic improvement to the side.
