Chelsea could find themselves going toe-to-toe with Premier League rivals Manchester United for one player’s signature.
Chelsea and Manchester United both look to be in need of a new left-back. While the former do have Marc Cucurella, his deputy Renato Veiga could be leaving the club this month.
Chelsea have already made their demands for Veiga as they prepare to let the defender go.
As for United, because of all of Luke Shaw’s injury problems, they also need to bring in another left-back.

Chelsea could beat Manchester United to Patrick Dorgu signing
United appear to be the team who are really interested in Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu right now.
However, according to CaughtOffside, while United remain interested in the 20-year-old, they are yet to make a move for the player.
As a result, the same outlet claims that Chelsea could try and take advantage of United’s slowness and join the race for Dorgu, who could cost €50m (£42m).
Dorgu could be a good replacement for Veiga, whose potential exit this month now looks quite likely.

Patrick Dorgu could have joined Chelsea last summer
This is not the first time there has been speculation about Chelsea and Dorgu. The young Dane was also linked with a move to Stamford Bridge last summer.
In fact, it was claimed that Dorgu actually rejected Chelsea, not wanting to be loaned out to their sister club Strasbourg.
While Dorgu is a left-back, the Denmark international has been playing on the right wing for Lecce this season, showing his versatility and attacking threat. It is one reason why he could be such an amazing signing for Chelsea.
With United dithering a bit, this could be the perfect opportunity for the club to make a move for him. Of course, they may not want to do anything until Veiga is actually out of the door. The club will not want a scenario where they have Cucurella, Veiga, Dorgu and Ben Chilwell all on their books.
