Chelsea recalled Trevoh Chalobah from his loan at Crystal Palace earlier this month, but the club still look to be in the market for a new central defender.
After how Enzo Maresca‘s men defended against Manchester City on Saturday, that is not a surprise.
While Trevoh Chalobah did a good job against Wolves at the start of the week, the 25-year-old and Levi Colwill could just not handle goalscorer Erling Haaland.
Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile also remain sidelined, giving Chelsea another reason to sign another centre-half.

Feyenoord do not want to sell David Hancko to Chelsea this month
Feyenoord star David Hancko is one centre-back who has been linked to Chelsea. However, it looks like the Blues will have to wait until the summer if they want to sign him.
According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea have enquired about Hancko’s availability, but Feyenoord’s stance is that they are not going to sell the 27-year-old during the January transfer window and when they eventually do, they want €50m (£42.2m) for his signature.
He has been a key player for the Eredivisie side this season, making 27 appearances in all competitions.
If the time to leave does come, then Hancko is likely to have several options, not just Chelsea.

Who else is interested in David Hancko?
Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham Hotspur also appear to be keen on Hancko. CaughtOffside’s report says Spurs have enquired about his availability, too.
In terms of teams outside of England, Atletico Madrid and Juventus have been credited with an interest as well.
In fact, the same outlet claims that Juventus are actually the ones leading the race for the Slovakian’s signature at the moment.
With the transfer window closing soon, Chelsea are probably going to hold fire until the summer and sign a new centre-back then.
Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi could become Chelsea’s top target, with Hancko and some others potentially being alternatives to the England international.
