Thomas Tuchel was in the building to watch Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur once again on Thursday.
It’s been a difficult start to 2025 for Chelsea, with several disappointing results seeing their strong position in the Premier League table slip.
Enzo Maresca’s side once looked certain to qualify for the Champions League but they are now battling it out with Manchester City, Newcastle, Aston Villa and even Brighton.
Thankfully, Tottenham can always be relied upon to surrender a vital three points and the Blues defeated them 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, with Enzo Fernandez getting the decisive goal.
Former manager Thomas Tuchel was in attendance for the game and Chelsea fans were delighted to see the new England boss.

Chelsea fans want Thomas Tuchel as manager
Tuchel visited his old stomping ground to run the rule over several English stars who will be hoping to make his next squad.
Cole Palmer is a dead cert but the likes of Levi Colwill, Jadon Sancho, Trevoh Chalobah, Dominic Solanke, James Maddison and Djed Spence would all have aimed to impress.
However, despite being in his unbiased role as Three Lions manager, Tuchel couldn’t help showing his continued love for Chelsea as he was photographed smiling following Fernandez’s goal.
Blues fans adored seeing Tuchel happy at the Bridge and many have asked him to come back one day.
One fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Good to see you again, Thomas Tuchel,” with a blue love heart emoji. “One of us forever.”
Another added, accompanied by the same photo of Tuchel smiling: “Thomas Tuchel still loves Chelsea.”
“I expect Tuchel back to Chelsea in 2-3 years,” one supporter predicted, while another said: “Thomas Tuchel was at Stamford Bridge… and he LOVED that Chelsea goal.”
Another fan wrote: “Lock the exits to Stamford Bridge, kidnap Tuchel and make him sign the contract as Chelsea manager.”
Could Thomas Tuchel return to Chelsea?
It may seem fanciful at present but there’s no reason Tuchel can’t fulfil all those fans’ wishes and return to the club one day.
Though currently the England manager, the German’s contract with the FA is only short-term, for the time being.
He will be in the hot seat until the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup next summer but, after that, nothing is set in stone.
Should Tuchel wish to return to club management, Chelsea would be a great place to do so and, given the club’s tendency to sack coaches, there’s a strong chance the job will be up for grabs.
Four different managers have taken permanent charge of the Blues in the two-and-a-half years since Tuchel was sacked.
