Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart are currently Chelsea’s two sporting directors.
However, the pair are not the two most popular figures at Stamford Bridge, especially after Chelsea‘s lack of incomings during the January transfer window.
Mathis Amougou was the Blues’ only arrival, something that supporters were not happy about. Many wanted a new striker to be added to the squad, and Winstanley and Stewart‘s decision not to sign one now looks like a mistake following Nicolas Jackson’s injury.
Recently, there have been rumours about Chelsea wanting a CEO of Football, who would have more responsibility than a sporting director, and that has got fans on social media talking.

Chelsea fans want Luis Campos
Luis Campos is one of the most high-profile sporting directors in the game and is currently acting as an adviser to Paris Saint-Germain.
There has been speculation about Chelsea wanting to appoint him as their CEO of football, which has been quashed by journalist Ben Jacobs.
Whatever the case, Blues fans have made it clear that Campos is welcome at Stamford Bridge, clearly not happy with the work that Winstanley and Stewart have done since arriving at the club.
One Chelsea supporter on X said: “I would take Campos, can’t lie.”
Another posted: “Get rid [of] Clearlake and all their SDs, let [Todd] Boehly and Campos run this ship.”
One other Chelsea fan claimed that they had been advocating for someone like Campos, saying: “If the reports of Luis Campos being considered for a CEO of Football role at Chelsea are accurate, then I can confidently say BlueCo owners are reading. I’ve long advocated for a strong footballing mind to: provide honest, strategic guidance to ownership [and] oversee the SDs.”
And one supporter thinks Campos would be “perfect”. He said: “I wish the reports linking Luis Campos with Chelsea Football Club were legit. He would be PERFECT for our project!”
It is no surprise that so many Chelsea fans want the club to appoint Campos. After all, it was Campos who unearthed Kylian Mbappe, who has since gone on to become one of the best footballers in the world.

Luis Campos’ signings
While at AS Monaco, the Portuguese also spearheaded moves for Bernardo Silva and Fabinho, two players Chelsea supporters will be very familiar with.
They have been part of Manchester City and Liverpool’s recent success, the kind of success Chelsea are just not able to achieve these days.
At Lille, Campos also had a role in the arrivals of Gabriel Magalhaes and Victor Osimhen, who are again footballers Chelsea fans will know all about.
Gabriel is now one of the best defenders in the Premier League, playing for London rivals Arsenal, while Osimhen was a target for Chelsea in 2024.
Appoint Campos, and maybe the Blues can land players like Gabriel and Osimhen before they become expensive superstars.
