Chelsea are set to address an issue in their squad by recalling one of their players.
Enzo Maresca has had problems in attack and defence of late. Nicolas Jackson has not been scoring, while Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile remain on the sidelines.
Jackson was heavily criticised by Craig Burley after some of the chances that he missed in Chelsea‘s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
The Blues may be forced to dip into the transfer market to address that problem, but in terms of defence, they have reportedly made the decision to recall Trevoh Chalobah from his loan at Crystal Palace.

Trevoh Chalobah set for Chelsea return
Chalobah was frozen out at Chelsea last summer before being allowed to join Palace on loan.
Gary Neville described Chelsea’s treatment of Chalobah as “heartbreaking”, with the central defender coming through the ranks there.
However, despite everything that happened between Chalobah, Maresca and the club, it looks like the 25-year-old will be returning to Stamford Bridge this month.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea have now activated a clause that allows them to recall Chalobah from his loan at Selhurst Park.
Chelsea’s move to bring Chalobah back to west London could now spell the end of the club’s pursuit of Marc Guehi.

Trevoh Chalobah could replace Axel Disasi
With Chalobah now set to return to Chelsea, that could pave the way for Axel Disasi to depart.
Even before the Chalobah news broke, the Frenchman already looked like he was heading for the exit door.
Disasi had a meeting with Maresca before Chelsea’s draw with Bournemouth and was then subsequently left out for the match.
It has been an extremely difficult season for Disasi. The 26-year-old has only made four starts in the Premier League and has had to play at right-back at times.
Even if Chelsea had decided not to recall Chalobah, an exit still would have been in Disasi’s best interest. Disasi is not set to join Juventus this month despite being linked to the Italian giants.
