Chelsea have today activated the option to bring one of their top loanees back for the rest of the season.
Trevoh Chalobah is set to return to Stamford Bridge after a promising spell at Crystal Palace so far this season.
Chelsea seem to have come to the decision that their defensive injury woes are too much to not address in January.

It feels likely that this will be the end of their pursuit this month for Marc Guehi, with Palace certainly not wanting to lose two players in the same possession in one window.
Chelsea should repeat Trevoh Chalobah loan recall with Andrey Santos
However, it is not believed to be Chelsea’s last piece of business this month, with a number of other positions needing to be strengthened.
One of those seems to be in midfield behind the usual starting contingence, with the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka not been trusted with Premier League minutes.
Andrey Santos is currently out on loan from the club, however fans have been keen to see him return amid his excellent campaign at Strasbourg.
Chelsea meanwhile originally planned for Santos to return at the end of the season, although this may need to change.
While the Brazilian’s development is coming along very nicely, the Blues should look to prioritise themselves for the rest of the season as they risk dropping out of the top four.

What does Enzo Maresca think of Andrey Santos?
Maresca reportedly believes that Santos has a huge future at Chelsea, and has even mentioned that in a previous press conference.
He said to Football London: “For some players, it is better they go, prove themselves and come back. If he continues in the way he is playing, he could be an option for us.”
However, the manager reportedly wants a new midfielder this month, although that could include recalling a loanee.
Lesley Ugochukwu is another option for this role, although Santos represents the more finished article, and a more recognised option to deputise for Romeo Lavia as Chelsea keep their fingers crossed on his fitness.
