The future of Chelsea is certainly looking bright as the club continue to sign some of the world’s most promising talents.

This summer, Estevao Willian, Kendry Paez and Mike Penders will join the club, with them all hoping for an opportunity at minutes either at the Club World Cup or next season.

The excitement doesn’t end this summer either. The Blues already know they will be adding Geovany Quenda to their ranks at the end of next season.

Chelsea beat Manchester United to the signing of Quenda, despite the fact that he had previously worked under Ruben Amorim at Sporting Lisbon.

Geovany Quenda really excited as Chelsea announce new signing

The Portuguese youngster will arrive in 2026, where he will join up with Chelsea’s most recent official addition, Dario Essugo.

A deal for the midfielder was confirmed during the second half of last season, after the Blues had interest in Essugo back in January.

After the club officially announced the signing, Quenda quickly took to his Instagram story to simply post ‘Phantom’, showing his excitement at linking up again with the midfielder in the future.

Despite being young, the plan is for Essugo to be part of Enzo Maresca’s squad straight away, with them having high expectations for what he can bring to the table.

Chelsea see Essugo as similar to Moises Caicedo, and any opportunity to rest arguably their best player is surely one that will be taken up.

Essugo’s dominant display against former Chelsea star

The Portuguese midfielder spent last season on loan from Sporting Lisbon at Las Palmas, where he racked up 27 appearances in La Liga.

One of those came up against Atletico Madrid, who were starting former Chelsea man Conor Gallagher in midfield following his switch of places with Joao Felix.

Essugo dominated Gallagher in the game, coming out on top in near enough every statistic as his side picked up a big win at home against the Champions League side.

It remains to be seen if Essugo will be given the chance to play at the upcoming Club World Cup, with a number of the club’s top midfielders off representing their country just days before the competition gets underway.
