Chelsea look a little short of options in the left-back position going forwards after their latest departure is set to be confirmed.
It was reported that Chelsea have agreed to a loan deal to allow Renato Veiga to play for Juventus for the rest of the season.
It is believed Veiga’s desire to play centre-back will be fufilled at his new club, something which he very rarely got the opportunity to do at Stamford Bridge.

After his departure, only Marc Cucurella remains as a natural first team option for the position, with Ben Chilwell very much out of the picture up to now.
Ben Chilwell not in Chelsea’s plans despite Renato Veiga’s exit
The England international has made just one appearance under Enzo Maresca, with their efforts to sell him over the summer not coming to fruition.
Despite the clear chance for him to return to the fold at Stamford Bridge, Graeme Bailey has told The Chelsea Chronicle the plan is still for Chilwell to depart the club in January
He said: “The plan is still for Chilwell to go within the next week. I believe they will want to bring another option in. It’s back to where they were pre-Veiga.
“I’ve asked Chelsea will Chilwell stay and get a look in. They’ve said that isn’t the case at the moment. Does it change next week? Possibly, but I believe they are looking to bolster that left-hand-side. It’s not an emergency but it weakens the squad.”

Where could Ben Chilwell move to in January?
If Chelsea do find a suitor for Chilwell in this transfer window, it feels as if it is going to be a deal that is completed late in the window.
Juventus are reportedly interested in Chilwell even after they bring in Veiga, with the left-back surely desperate to make a move to a side who are currently unbeaten in Serie A.
Premier League clubs are also reportedly keen on bringing in the England man, sensing an opportunity to pull off a cut-price deal.
Everton are keen on Chilwell, however would need to terminate the loan of Armando Broja in order to bring the left-back in for the rest of the season.
