AC Milan’s Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze has admitted he isn’t overly concerned about his limited game time at the San Siro, even as questions continue to swirl around his future at the club.
Chukwueze arrived in Milan in the summer of 2023 with high expectations following an impressive spell at Villarreal.
Milan invested €25 million to secure his services, but two years on, the winger has yet to truly make his mark in Serie A.
This season, he has started just nine league games for the Rossoneri, scoring only three goals in 23 appearances.
For a player of his pedigree, those numbers fall short, and despite his lack of consistent minutes, Chukwueze insists he remains focused on the collective.
“The priority is the group and the solidity of our team; then, obviously I would like to play a bit more, but the team comes first,” Chukwueze said before Milan’s clash with Fiorentina, as quoted by Sempre Milan.
However, the stats tell a story of a winger struggling to find his rhythm.
Across all competitions since his arrival, Chukwueze has managed just eight goals and four assists in 65 appearances, a return that has raised eyebrows at Milan.
He came close to an exit in January, but the club decided to keep him. Now, reports suggest the Rossoneri are open to letting him leave in the upcoming summer transfer window as they look to reshape their squad.
A potential move to the Saudi Pro League has been floated, which could offer both a financial windfall and a fresh start.
While Chukwueze might not be visibly bothered, a decision looms: reignite his career in Europe or take the Saudi route for financial security.
Either way, the winger’s next move will be crucial in determining whether he lives up to his early promise.
