Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez may have just given Real Madrid some hope of signing him one day.

Real Madrid are keen to bring Fernandez in as they look to strengthen their midfield after a disappointing season.

Understandably, Chelsea are reluctant to sell the 24-year-old, who has been one of their best players this term. In 44 appearances, he has scored seven goals and provided 13 assists.

However, Fernandez has just said something that is likely to be of huge interest to Real Madrid.

Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez a fan of La Liga

Chelsea want to keep hold of Fernandez, but the Argentine may very well be open to a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Fernandez was recently asked in an interview about the difference between the Premier League and La Liga, giving him an opportunity to share his appreciation for Spanish football.

Speaking to reporter Gaston Edul, he said: “The Premier League is more transitional, and I think the Spanish league is much more tactical and intelligent. The Italian one is much more defensive… I really like the Spanish league.”

While Real Madrid are keen on Fernandez, Chelsea also appear to be interested in one of their players.

It is thought that Chelsea are considering making a bid for Rodrygo, with the club aiming to land a new winger this summer.

Rodrygo is competing against other superstars at Real Madrid for a spot in the team, including Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe. If the Brazilian wants to be an automatic starter, then he may need to join Chelsea or another club when the transfer window opens.

What Chelsea think about Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo

Chelsea will be desperate to keep the midfield partnership of Fernandez and Moises Caicedo together.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea believe that Fernandez and Caicedo are elite and give Enzo Maresca one of the best midfields in Europe.

It looks like Real Madrid could now try and tear that apart. But with a contract until 2032, Chelsea do not have to sell. It means it may be a while before Fernandez gets to play in the league he has come to appreciate.
