Enzo Maresca was visibly delighted and relieved as Chelsea returned to winning ways against West Ham at Stamford Bridge last night.
The Blues won 2-1 against their London rivals, with Pedro Neto and a deflected Cole Palmer strike helping them climb back into the top four.
Maresca received plenty of praise for his substitutions last night. Neto, Marc Guiu and Christopher Nkunku completely transformed how Chelsea were attacking against Graham Potter’s side.

After a weekend of results that all went their way, it was important for the Blues to capitalise. However, things got off to the worst possible start when a Levi Colwill error was punished by Jarrod Bowen.
Enzo Maresca stunned at first Chelsea home win after being behind at half-time in 11 years
The Blues went into half-time 1-0 down at home, a scenario which for a long while now has not seen them come out of it with three points.
In fact, last night’s game was the first time in more than 11 years that Chelsea had been behind at the break at Stamford Bridge only to end up winning.
Maresca was told this in his post-match video, and a video released by HaytersTV shows he was clearly stunned to hear it had been that long.
The story of this season has usually been Chelsea taking the lead, however not having the clinical edge to finish games there and then.
Chelsea’s last win at Stamford Bridge after trailing at half-time

The last time Chelsea completed this feat was in December 2013, when they won 3-1 at home against Southampton.
The Blues trailed within the first minute, however second half goals from Gary Cahill, John Terry and Demba Ba helped turn things around.
Jose Mourinho overcame future Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino that day, and said after the game how it was important “not to panic” despite being behind.
That was likely the message being echoed by Maresca last night, and it came across to the players who came out far better in the second half and turned things around.
