Denver: The Hammond family has a rich basketball history that’s hard to ignore. Six years ago, a fierce game on a tennis court showed just how competitive they are. Young Jeremiah took a hit from his brother Christian, and dad Julian II just laughed it off, saying they needed to toughen up.
Growing up, the brothers played countless games, pushing each other to improve. Their parents, Julian II and Ruby, both played college ball, and Julian II even went pro in Australia. Now, the brothers are making their own names in the sport.

Julian III is a senior point guard at CU, leading the team this season. Christian is a redshirt freshman at Santa Clara, and Jeremiah is a junior at Cherry Creek, averaging over 20 points a game. They’ve all learned from their dad and grandpa, who was a pro player himself.
Julian III has become a key player for the Buffs, stepping up after his teammate went pro. Coach Tad Boyle appreciates his hard work and loyalty, especially in a tough season. Meanwhile, Christian is taking a smart approach by redshirting this year to develop his skills.
Jeremiah is also on the radar, with offers from several colleges. His brothers believe he has the potential to be the best of them all. As the youngest, he’s eager to carve out his own identity.
Julian II enjoys watching his sons thrive, even joking about his own shooting skills. He knows when to step back and let them shine. The Hammond family’s legacy continues to grow, inspiring each other and the next generation of players.
