Wayne Rooney, a prominent figure at Manchester United, has voiced his concerns regarding Manchester City’s choice to allow Kyle Walker to transfer to AC Milan.

Walker made the switch to the Serie A side during the January transfer window. In a conversation with Amazon Prime, Rooney noted that the former City captain could have been a key player for the team this season.
“Players eventually leave clubs, but given Manchester City’s current challenges and Kyle Walker’s role as captain, along with his contributions over the years, it might have been wise to delay his departure until the summer. Even if the league title seems out of reach, they still have the Champions League to focus on. It would have been advantageous for him to help the team for the rest of the season.
“I went through something similar with Mourinho. When I wasn’t in the lineup under Jose Mourinho, I had a chat in January where he asked me to stay until the end of the season, stressing the importance of my support in the Europa League.
“It was a tough choice for me, but I honored his request, and we parted on good terms at the end of the season. I think a similar strategy would have been more prudent for Kyle.”
