Mohamed Salah made history on Sunday, surpassing Manchester City legend Sergio Agüero to become the Premier League’s highest-scoring foreign player.

Salah’s landmark strike put Liverpool 4-1 ahead, sparking jubilant celebrations in the famous Kop end.

The Egyptian star even posed for a selfie with a fan’s phone, his name echoing around the stadium as he basked in the adulation.

“To win the Premier League here with the fans is special — it’s an incredible feeling,” Salah said after the match.

“This is way better than five years ago, without a shadow of a doubt. To do it again after five years is something special.”

Liverpool’s latest title triumph matches Manchester United’s record of 20 English top-flight championships and marks the end of a 35-year wait to lift the Premier League trophy once again at Anfield.

Salah’s Record-Breaking Journey

Salah had drawn level with Agüero on 184 goals during Liverpool’s 3-1 comeback victory over Southampton on March 8, where he netted twice.

His decisive goal against Spurs, his 28th in the league this season, pushed him clear at the top among foreign scorers.

Joining Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017, Salah has scored almost all his Premier League goals for the Reds, with his first two coming during a brief stint at Chelsea in 2014.

Now with 297 league appearances, Salah recently signed a new two-year contract extension, reinforcing his commitment to the club.

With 46 goal contributions (goals and assists) this Premier League season, Salah is just one shy of tying Andy Cole and Alan Shearer’s record for the most in a single campaign.

He also climbs to fifth on the Premier League’s all-time goal-scorers list, behind

Andy Cole (187),
Wayne Rooney (208),
Harry Kane (213), and
Alan Shearer (260).

An Iconic Season for the Egyptian King

In total, Salah has scored 33 goals in all competitions this season, strengthening his status as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history.

For Liverpool and Salah alike, Sunday was not just about winning the title, but about making history — and writing another unforgettable chapter at Anfield.
