Nigeria international, Shukurat Oladipo made her long-awaited debut for AS Roma Women in their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Fiorentina, on Sunday, in the Serie A Women’s Championship.

Oladipo, 18, who joined the Italian giants from FC Robo Queens, entered the match in the 75th minute, replacing Hawa Cissoko.

The match was settled by a 48th-minute penalty from Manuela Giugliano, converting from the spot at Curve Fiesole, inside Viola Park in Bagno a Ripoli.

The win all but solidified Roma’s place in next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League, as they remain third on the log with 45 points from 26 matches—the final qualification spot—with one game remaining.

Oladipo’s appearance is a huge milestone in her young career, stepping onto the European stage for the first time after impressing domestically with Robo Queens.

With Roma set to close their season against newly crowned champions, Juventus, on May 17.

Head coach, Alessandro Spugna may look to give the Nigerian more minutes as the club prepares for a return to continental football next season.
